Episode 10: Laura Guerra
Here is another unsolved murder by a gunshot that I found in Texas.
Laura Guadalupe Guerra had graduated from Rio Grande City Highschool in 1986. She had also received a degree in data processing from TSTI in McAllen. She had a son named Marco. On May 23, 1990, She had been missing for 3 days when she was found murdered in a wooded area across from the Rio Motel in Rio Grande City, Texas. She was 22.
Some facts on the Case
They believe she has been shot elsewhere then dumped in the area, possibly the motel.
An autopsy determined she died by a gunshot wound to the head.
It also showed she had been dead for 3 days meaning she was killed the day she disappeared.
There were apparently several clues that were followed, but the case went cold.
The only lead they have is on a possible witness, who was in the area during the time. They were known as “Gaston Garza” or “Mariano” might have information about the murder. If you google either it pulls up a couple of random posts of people that are around that age but it seems like both of them are common names in the area.
I literally couldn’t find any other information on this. I couldn’t even find who was the last person to see her for the police to know that she had been missing for 3 days. I got a free trial to Newspaper.com and could only find her obituary which is where I found the school info and that she had a son. Other than that there isn’t any background information on Laura either. Usually, they at least give some background information and there is nothing. It’s strange to me that this woman was killed and there seems to be no one looking into it.
A reward of $6,000 is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
To be eligible for the reward, tips must be submitted on the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS.
Here are the References I used other than the Newspaper Articles.
In this Episode I made Chicken Casserole
Ingredients
Chicken Breast
1 Can of Cream of Chicken Soup
Boxed Stuffing, I used Chicken Stuffing
Sour Cream, I only used 2 Spoonfuls
Cheese of your Choice, I used a hand full of it.
Salt and Pepper
Oliver Oil
Butter
Water
Steps.
Preheat Oven to 400.
Wash, Cut the chicken into chunks, and cook in olive oil, salt and pepper.
Grease the baking dish and add Chicken, Cream of Chicken Soup, Sour Cream, and Cheese and mix it all up.
Smooth out the mixture then top it with the Box of Stuffing. You can mix it with the butter and water before but I added it after so I got a nice Crunchy Top.
Bake for 30 mins.
Take it out, Let it cool, and Enjoy!
