October Play! by Sephora
This month's theme was Complexion Companions which featured items to fit your skin tones. Mine was pretty on point.
This bag is pretty cute. I like the layout of it and the fact they included all the varies skins tones in someway.
Laura Mercier Translucent setting powder. I've been finding myself trying all the different times of setting powders lately. I've found like 2 I really like so far. So I was excited when this was in the box. This one is a light color which works best for me since I'm so pale. I have used this one a couple times and not had any issues out of it. It goes on perfectly and doesn't get all cakey. I keep coming across of Laura Mercier here lately and I'm really digging it.
Make up For Ever Skin Booster. This is a light serum that is supposed to hydra and plumps your skin. I have used it before bed and before putting on makeup. Each time I put it on, massage it in, and then I let it sink it. Your face will feel a little rough until it sinks in then it will soften up and be a little tingly. It's a nice simple serum. The only issue I have with it is this damn dropper sucks. It may be where it's a tiny sample size or I'm not doing it right or something. It is really discouraging though.
I have always had a soft spot for Chanel. My 1st super fancy named brand perfume was Chanel No. 5 so I'm partial. This is a gorgeous scent. I don't recall ever not like any of Chanel Perfumes though. This one is a little on the heavy side but not so much that it's overbearing. It's really a delightful floral scent. I'm really pretty into it.
I have gotten a couple thing from Cover FX mostly I have been only so-so about them. They aren't completely terrible just wasn't something that worked for me. This one took me by Surprise actually.
This stuff packs a punch of some shimmer glow. It's pretty intense and I'm quite pleased with it. I'm still playing around with it, but it works well going over your makeup and under it. I need to do some more research into these light highlighters that can be used both ways. Let me know if any of y'all have any recommendations.
I have heard of Becca but for the life of me, I can't remember if I've ever tried anything from them. I could be wrong but honestly, I'm not sure. Anyways this stuff is pretty great. It's a purple formula with a little bit of shimmer to it. You only have to use a little, which is a huge plus for me. This stuff left my face all smooth and shimmery. I really like. I will have to see what else Becca has to offer.
I've never had an issue with Make Up For Ever. I've tried eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick, and the booster above. This is the 1st thing I've not been happy with. It's a shade that is close to mine and it goes on pretty easily. It just cakes with the powders I use. It's not heavy or anything like that. I think it just doesn't work for my skin. I need something a little thicker I guess. I've played around with it some and it's just doesn't do it for me. If anyone else has a better experience with it. I'd love to hear it cause I'm super bummed about it.
I was pretty pleased with this box actually. It had a few things that were pretty perfect. All of them were products that I needed to try. I think Sephora did a good job putting together a box that was mostly complexion based, other than the eyeliner. It was kind of out there for the theme, but I get it.
What did you all get? Tell me stuff.
