Greatest Love Song Vol. 666

This was the debut album that came out on November 3rd of 1997. The album was recorded in fifteen days during the summer before it's release. The dude that produce it is Hilli Hiilesmaa, who has been credited as the 6th member. Which I always thought was weird since there are  5 members  2  which have been changed out over the years. Who am I to question HIM logic though.

The line up of the band on this album are as follows.

This was the only album to feature Antto and Pätkä.

I included the tracklist below. Mainly cause I always like to know what songs are on an album. I will seriously pick a song based on the title. It's like a gut reaction sometimes it works, others it doesn't.

My favorite track is  It's All Tears which may be my favorite songs by them. I love the change on it with the vocals, the combination of the drums and guitars are perfect.  Plus the concept of wanting someone to drown in your love is rather sweet.

It also has 2 covers, Wicked Games by Chris Issac and Doesn't Fear The Reaper by Blue  Oyster Cult. These  2  songs I feel like get covered a lot,  especially Wicked Games. I think I have heard it done every day. I'm partial to theirs, of course, The actually redo it on a  later album.

Anyways the track list.

  1. 1.For You (intro)
  2. Your Sweet Six Six Six
  3.  Wicked Game
  4. The Heartless
  5. Our Diabolikal Rapture
  6.  It's All Tears (Drown In This Love)
  7. When Love And Death Embrace
  8. The Beginning Of The End
  9.  (Don't Fear) The Reaper

66. Untitled

This album gives off the heavy metal goth vibe. The lyrics are centered around the theme of love and death. Honestly most HIM songs are like that to a certain point. I always get told they are an Emo band but I've never felt that was legit. They are a  strange combination of heavy metal and 80 pop rock music. Weird beautiful strange combo. They really have changed it over the years but stuck with the love and death theme.

I really love this album it so raw and a good beginning to start with the cause of that.  When something is just kind of laid out there where you aren't sure how it will go but your hope for the best. I feel like that's the album was and it's really what makes it so great.
