My favorite Met Gala Looks!

So Today I'm gonna switch it up a bit. The Met Gala was Monday and all I can seriously think about is how insanely beautiful some of these looks are. So I decided I'm going to put together some of my favorite looks and review those.

In case you don't want the hell I'm talking about let me give you a little background information on the event.

The Met Gala, which was formally called the Costume Institute Gala and has also been known as the Met Ball, is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. Every year the event marks the grand opening of the Costume Institute's annual fashion exhibit.  The event celebrates the theme of that year's exhibition, which sets the tone for the formal dress of the night since guests are expected to choose their fashion to match the theme of the exhibit.

This years theme was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.

The moment I saw this look I was obsessed with it. Seriously everything about it is perfect and I'm pretty sure Ri is the new pope.

SZA in Versace

I adore this pink flowing tule and the delicate designs on the top are lovely. The headpiece reminds me of a halo from a Baroque artwork.

Frances McDormand in Valentino Haute Couture

I simply adore this woman. She literally oozes class without having to try, it's really the way she carries herself. This is her trying here and I love it. These butterfly feathers things are over the top and she makes them work for her. I honestly don't know if I would like this look on anyone else.

Lena Waithe in Carolina Hererra

I'm biased on this one. As a Bisexual woman whose is married to a woman I have a lot of respect for this chick for rocking the shit out of this pride flag cape. This superhero-inspired was actually a nod to her 2017 Emmy acceptance speech, in which she encouraged LGBTQ people to “put on your imaginary cape and go out there and conquer the world because the world would not be as beautiful as it is if we weren’t in it.”  I adore her for the look as a whole cause she wears it with such pride.

Lili Reinhart in H&M and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and Cole Sprouse in Thom Browne

I love this short silvery glitter dress with that train. It's just so stunning and she wears it so well. Also Cole in the background with that tux and the fact I can see his ankle is something I actually dig for some reason and I'm not entirely sure why.

Ariana Grande in Vera Wang

This dress looks like the Sistine Chapel pattern put on a dress and bunched up and I dig it. That's the only reason really and it really fits the theme of the event cause of it.

Blake Lively in Atelier Versace, Christian Louboutin shoes, and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, with a Judith Leiber Couture bag.

Blake is seriously always a thing of perfection. This dress apparently took over 600 hours to embroider and it's so long that she took a party bus to the event. Honestly, it really seems very Blake Lively to take a party bus. This dress is detailed perfection and they chose wisely in putting it on her. Plus she has one of these spike halo headpieces on that I dig.

Anne Hathaway wearing Valentino Haute Couture.

There is something about this blood red bunched up dress that I love. Actually, I think it may be the headpiece, cause without it I may not like the dress. They both work so well together.

Winnie Harlow wearing Tommy Hilfiger.

I wish I had gotten married in this dress. Seriously headpiece and all I want a redo just to wear this beauty.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda and Jennifer Fisher jewelry.

I just love SJP and she always kills whatever designer look she is wearing. This one is no different.

Cara Delevingne in Dior Haute Couture and Bulgari jewelry

This dress is just pleasing to me. I love the see-through fishnet design of it. Plus the headpiece makes it seem like some death bride which I really dig.

I seriously so in love with all the looks for the gala. I don't think there was one that I just flat out hated. I think everyone stuck with the theme in a way that best fits themselves. Which is something hard to do when you have an obscene amount of people in one place where everything is designer fashion. The Gala looks every year seem to surprise me cause you can't really predict what anyone is going to come through with. The excitement of the whole thing as a whole is what pulls me in and makes me obsess over it every year.
