August Sephora Play!
I'm continuing the final week of August with my Sephora Play review.
This month's theme is Beauty Schooled which is perfect since it's back to school time.
They included a quiz in this one. Which I think is really quite cute. It like a Cosmo quiz.
They had an answer key under the play points card.
Here are the results to tell you what your beauty skill level is.
This bag is really adorable and fits the theme perfectly.
I have actually gotten this stuff before so I was excited to actually get it again. This is Grande Lips Hydrating Lip Plumper. Basically, this one is a clear lip gloss that helps hydrate and plump your lips. This is actually one of my favorite lip plumpers and I've tried a couple different ones. Some are too harsh or just burn but this one is lovely. It's only a light burn not so much you wanna rip your lips off. I really dig this and if I ever run out cause a little goes a long way I will buy a full size.
This is Glow-To Highlighter. I know what you're thinking. Wait....didn't I just read a review on this same exact item this week? Yup, you sure did. Somehow I got the same exact highlighter in both my Glam Bag and Play! box. Since I already reviewed it. I honestly just copy and pasted it over to this one. My feelings and reaction on the product have not changed.
This one is in the shade Moondust. It's a light rose gold shimmer packed with tiny silver glitter. It's almost a nude color on me so it's more of a highlight than some that have a tint color to them which is perfection. Please note it packs a punch of shine so a little will go a long way. I dig this one so much and will be looking more into these.
I'm really big on the NARS brand which I've slowly been trying more of over the past few months. This Pro-Prime Smudge Proof eyeshadow base. This is a clear cream that goes on with easy on your eyelid. The applicator makes it easier to apply so you can get your crease perfected or that eyeshadow cat eye. It's light formula which is great since there are a couple primers that are really thick and make my eyelids a little heavy. This one I really dig and would buy again.
This is the 1st time I have heard of this brand, but I'm always down to try a new hair product. This is a Dry Texture Spray, which is basically a pre-styling spray. I used it on my dry hair which is what it says to do. I brushed it then sprayed it on. I then put them in braids. I sleep on it as I do with about all hair products I try. My braids were actually contained and not a complete mess the next morning. I undid them after work and my hair was soft and had this adorable loose wave to it. It's nice, not one that I would normally buy but does what it should. The only issue I had was it was hard to spray, but that could just be the can though.
I have gotten several Amika products before and they are always impressive. This one is a shampoo and conditioner set, which I also have issues with since my hair is so long and there is so little product. The name of these is Velveteen Dream, not going to lie this 1st thought I had was the wrestler that's just who I am. That's actually what reminded me to use it was I had watched him wrestle at Takeover. The Shampoo is amazing it lathers up really well and covered all my hair without issue. The Conditioner I got the top of my hair and had to use another brand on my tips. After washing both out my hair felt strange, so I was a little worried about it. I let it air dry and about an hour or so late I could feel the effect. My hair was legit a Velveteen Dream, it was soft, manageable, and had a lovely shine to it. I washed my hair on a Saturday and on Thursday my hair was still feeling the effects and I hadn't had to wash it since then. I will be investing in whatever witchcraft this stuff is, cause it's pretty damn amazing.
This is the 1st time I have heard of Laneige or tried anything by them. I am always excited to get a new skincare product. This one is a light gel that goes on really easy and you only need a little bit. Well, at least I only had to use a little to cover my entire face. I have been using it before bed of course since it's a sleeping mask. I have used it the past couple days and it's nice. I wake up and my skin isn't overly oil just a little around my nose. I don't have much redness and my skin is soft. I like the product and will use it. I wouldn't buy it normally.
I'm extremely pleased with this box. I got products I hadn't really tried excepted for the one which I loved so it worked. I really do love getting to test and try out new things and Play! always seem to impress me more each month. I also like that they are switching it up and not including a perfume in the box every month. It really opens the options up for more than the same thing every couple of months. I'm excited to see what else they come up with next.
