April Ipsy Glam Bag
Hello there,
I'm starting my subscription in a weird way this week, well at least it feels weird it may not be.
This month's theme was Bloom since it's basically spring and with that comes Fresh Beauty products. Also on the back flap, it tells you how to build your dream bag. This is something they have started recently. Where you can add products to your Ipsy bag you just have to pay for said item. I actually did that on this one just to give it a try.
Here is the product list for this month's bag. I am super glad they started doing this it's really a game changer for them.
This month's bag has these adorable lemons on it. The inside is the mint green that really works with the whole design of it so I wanted to show it as well. I really like this bag and it works well with the spring theme in a strange way.
Purlisse Watermelon Energizing Peel + Polish. I usually get one of their products every couple months honestly, it's a hit and miss with me. So when I saw this I didn't get my hopes up due to that. This was something I haven't tried from them since I usually get the lotion. I really love a good peel or polish though. This stuff is actually pretty great. It's a good consistency that's easy to apply and it smells amazing. I left it on for 2 mins then massaged my face to get the full polish then rinsed. My face was left smooth, glowing, and slightly red from scrubbing. Honestly, I did go a little overboard with it. This product does pack a lot of scrub power so please keep that in mind. You actually don't need a lot of it to get that full effect and less may be better since it's so intense. I really dig this one and would buy it again.
This stuff is $35 for a 2.5 oz tube.
Tarte Double Duty Base Tape Hydrating Primer. I love Tarte and Shape Tape is my go-to in concealer and foundation at the moment. So I was super stoked to try this especially since I wasn't even aware it was a thing. I'm really out of the loop these days. The formula it'self is super light and almost looks like glue when it comes out which kinda worried me at first. However, it applies with ease and it's not sticky. I let it soak in for about 10 mins before doing my makeup and my face was so soft. It also has this light almost coconut scent to it which is really lovely. I really dig this and would definitely buy it again.
A bottle of this goes for $30.
The Balm Cosmetics The BalmJour Creamy Lip Stain in Namaste! I really love The Balm, I never get anything bad from them and their product are always so cute. I don't believe I have tried their lip stain yet so I was excited about it. This formula is a strange combination of a liquid lipstick and a gloss just without the sticky part. It can be layered on or just use one coat to get the pigment on your lips. This shade is a couple shades darker than my bare lip color so when wearing it kinda looks like I'm wearing lipstick and I'm not. The product isn't bad my lips do feel a little weighted down but that's after I apply more than one coat. As a stain itself it does fade pretty quick and leaves a slight stain but nothing noticeable. I do like this one since it's easy to toss on and doesn't stain your skin if you smear it. I don't think I would purchase it again though since I don't really care for it that much.
This one comes in 8 shades and is $14.
Eyeko Black Magic Liquid Eyeliner in Carbon Black. This is a brand I have never heard of so I was excited to try it. Plus I'm always up for trying a new eyeliner. This is super dark black that is pretty hard to get off without a remover of some kind. The tip in this is super flimsy so it makes it easy to maneuver but is hard to get a straight line. The finished product is nice but it takes some time to get there. I won't be buying this one again.
This liner goes for $16.50.
Laura Sanchez Moods Eyeshadow in Alien Turquoise. Here is another brand I've not heard of. The packaging of this single eyeshadow was enough to excite me. This is the outer case of it which looks amazing.
The eyeshadow itself the case has the same theme. Except if you fold it out completely you will see the full image of the chick with the crystal ball. I love it so much. The eyeshadow itself is this stunning blue turquoise. It goes on me more of a baby blue shade but it could because it's packed full of silver glitter. I'm in love with it and have been using it every chance I get. I'm currently that crazy chick with the blue eyeshadow and I'm ok with that. I will definitely be looking into this brand more.
This only comes in the full palette with is $35.
Doucce Punk Volumizer Mascara. This is the add on I purchase with this bag. I chose it simply so I would be able to do a complete look since I got basically everything else to make one. Plus I love a good mascara to the point I'm almost obsessed with finding a perfect one. I was worried about this one when I opened it cause the spoolie looked like it would hold so much product it would cake up. However, this one is actually pretty legit. It goes on easy and you can apply a couple costs without it being overkill or caking up. Also, it did make my lashes look really full. I like this one and would buy it again.
I paid $3 for the mini add on. Full size of this is $24.
I really enjoyed this months bag. I kinda like the add on thing they have which they just sent me an email on to do so. Also, I got an email to upgrade to Ipsy Plus which is full-size products which you can only do it or both. Which I upgrade to give it a try next month, but I am also going to still get my glam bag. We are gonna see how it goes and reviews it. Anyone get anything good this month? Anyone do the Plus bag? Let me know stuff I would love to hear what you all think.
