Docs I have watched recently Jan 2022

Oh hello there.

I have another list of things I’ve watched recently. You know things that weren’t just me rewatching Criminal Minds for the 4th time.

This one was very well done. It’s from the point of view of the FBI’s Bill Hagmaier, who interviewed Bundy in the month before his death. I really enjoyed this in the chaos of all the Bundy Biopics since it’s done differently than the rest. Some of these things they cover in it I wasn’t completely aware of so it was nice learning something different about this case. This one is on AMC.

This one is on Hulu and it’s straight Trash. I couldn’t get into and it just pissed me off.

I was excited when I saw this had come out since I’m a big fan of Adrienne Shelly. She is probably best known for the movie Waitress that she wrote and directed. It’s currently been turned into a play on Broadway, which in this movie they visit and talk to people waiting in line. Sadly a lot of people aren’t aware of who she is. That also maybe because her life was cut short in 2006 when she was murdered. One of the biggest things I’ve always heard was that they wanted a documentary to actually tell her story. Let me tell you this was absolutely a beautiful tribute to Adrienne. Her husband put this together and included interviews with people who worked with Adrienne. They also did animated doodle conversations that he had with their daughter after her death which really add to the story. He also finally met with the man who took her life. You will cry a lot watching this. It’s on HBO Max.

A doc on another person I’m a big fan of. Which sometimes it just doesn’t seem real that Brittany Murphy is dead. I know a lot of us have questioned her death since it happened because it just doesn’t make sense. This one is in 2 parts and goes into the details surrounding her sudden death. It also uncovers the aftermath and the sketchy things her husband did. Honestly the entire 2nd part of this I was in shock, like how in the fuck did no one know anything about this man. It’s on HBO max go watch it and I’m going to watch it again actually.

This was a random one that popped up on Netflix. I wasn’t even aware of this guy. I’m not sure why cause I feel like it would be obvious that Times Square of all places would have a serial killer. This Guy committed some awful crimes, like in the first 3 mins you get details on one. I had to rewind it when I heard it cause I was like wait what did they just say. Also, you get to hear an interview with him at the end of it and I screamed cause he is just heartless. This one was well done. It’s on Netflix.

I saw this one randomly on Showtime. I have always been a big fan of Belushi, even though he died before I was born. NBC use to play old SNL’s from the 1st season after the newer ones when I was younger so I would just watch them when I couldn’t sleep at night. I really wished they still did that. Also one of the first VHS tapes I remember watching was Animal House, which I still have. This one was done perfectly. They cover all aspects of his life from childhood till his death. They also worked closely with his wife and friends to put it together. They added a lot of nice touches in there to bring this one to life. Including audio clips of friends of his who have also passed such as Carrie Fisher and Harold Ramis. Also, they did an animated version of him using his voice. I really enjoyed it and it’s another one that will make you cry at the end of it.
