Studio 666

I was really excited when I saw the trailer for the movie a couple of months back. It’s a horror movie starring one of my favorite bands. It was only playing an hour away until a couple of weeks ago when the kid wanted to see The Batman and I notice my local theater was playing it.

So last weekend I wanted to go see it and went to check times and saw that you could rent it at home for $19.99. I decided to do that instead since I pee a lot and can’t pause a movie at the theater. I decided to wait so I could properly clean my living room to watch it on the big TV. Well, that happened this past weekend. It’s bittersweet since Taylor Hawkins, their Drummer just passed away. I feel like we are all in the same low place right now. It’s a devasting loss of someone so well-loved and respected in the music world as a whole. This movie was definitely a big pick me up from reality.

Also, The perks of renting it on Prime is you get it for 48 hrs. So I watched 3 times just cause I fucking could.

I really enjoyed it. The plotline is pretty solid for a horror movie about a haunted murder house that is trying to kill everyone inside. The special effect and the blood and gore are good horror movie quality that bridges into Cheesy 80’s horror in some parts. The Demon ghosts they have in this are pretty terrifying tho. This is a Horror Comedy so there are a lot of good oneliners in it there that are just funny, some are stupid but still funny.

This music is fire as you would expect from the Foo Fighters. It’s them doing Metal which is rad. Also these motherfuckers got John Carpenters in this movie on the mixing board. He and his son Cody did the theme song for the movie. There is another Horror movie nod near the end when Dave does a lovely Tribute to Jason Voorhees. Pat Smear’s wardrobe maybe my favorite part of it from the Versace Tracksuit to the Pink Satin robe, The pastel outfit, and finally the Plaid night Shirt and Hat. Also, there is a part where Dave screams at Pat that he is Dave Grohl which is funny cause he is Pat Smear and Dave will be the first to tell you that.

Whitney Cummings and Leslie Grossman are wonderful in this movie as well.

Overall It’s a good time whether you like the band or not. Just be warned the ending will make you big sad.
