August Sephora Play
Hiya,
We are moving right along with the next in my subscription reviews with My Play! by Sephora.
This month's theme is Your Beauty Sidekicks, which I dig cause we all need them.
The fold-out is this superhero goodness and I really love it.
We still get this plastic bag this one is more of teal green. At least they are switching up the colors with is fun.
Sunday Riley A+ high dose Retinoid Serum. I really like the brand and everything I have tried from them over the years. This one is a light serum that is easy to apply. It kind of gives your skin an instant glow. I have used in the morning and at night before bed without too many issues. I do have a little oily around my nose but it's not bad. Also, it does leave my skin super soft and with that slightly glow. I like it and would buy it again if it wasn't so expensive.
A 1oz bottle of this is $85.
Briogeo Farewell Frizz. I have tried this brand several times before various products with good results. This is a creme that you apply to wet hair and then blow-dry. Since I don't even blow dry my hair my wife does and was excited to test it. She has recently gotten into trying different hair products such as this. She loved it since it smells amazing, keeps her hair soft and keeps it under control. I tried it and didn't blow dry my hair just braid it, then went to sleep. I got the same effect so you don't have to blow-dry. We dig it and would buy it again.
A 4oz tube of this is $24.
Glamglow Supertoner Exfoliating Acid Solution. I really love Glam Glow, everything I have tried from them is amazing so I was excited about this. This is a super toner which is gray when you put it on a cotton round. I have to use a couple drops then wipe it around my face. It does have this minty smell to it that kind of tingles when you 1st put it on but only a couple secs. I have used this as my normal toner before moisturizer and just alone. It's wonderful and leaves my face feeling clean and super soft. I dig this one and would buy it again.
A 7oz bottle of this is $42.
Clinique Moisture Surge. I got a tube of this in my February box and loved it so I did just steal that review since it still holds up. This is a light gel that you don’t have to use a lot to get the full effect. It goes on smooth, isn’t heavy and actually works pretty quick. I was surprised at how soft and hydrated my face felt in under 30 mins. It didn’t leave me feeling greasy after a while either. I really dig this one as does my wife so I will buy it again.
This one comes in 4 different sizes. A 0.5oz for $12, 1oz for $19, 1.7oz for $39, and a 2.5 for $52.50.
Bare Minerals Set, Hydrate & Glow. I have tried a couple things from Bare Mineral over the years without issues. I have yet to try one of their setting sprays. This one is simple. You only need a couple sprays. It's not sticky or overly scented. I have used it a couple time without any problems. It does keep my face intact for hours or until I wash it. Also, it doesn't dry my face out does leave it with a slight glow. I like this one and would buy it again.
A 3.4 oz bottle of this is $28.
Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dance Fever. So I actually got one of these before in a box a couple years ago just different shades. So, of course, I looked up the review and it still holds up. This one is a velvet matte lip pencil which it really is. Seriously this isn’t just a name it really is a velvet matte. It goes on with perfection and is soooo smooth it’s insane. This one is perfect to outline than to fill in. You can wear it by itself or with a lipstick. I used it in combination with the lipstick I got as well. The shade is the lovely nude that a little on the darker side on my skin. It works beautifully and is still worth investing in.
These come in 25 shades and goes for $27 a pop.
I really enjoyed this month's box. I didn't get anything I didn't like. Some of the items are things I wouldn't normally buy and I think that why I like getting these boxes so much.
If you want to get a Play! box they are around $10 a month and I have provided a link below.
