Ipsy April 2021
Hello,
We are closing out this month per usual with my Ipsy review.
I really panicked with this one. Because it came super late meaning I literally just got this one last Saturday. So I feel like I had to rush to test everything. I think it was late cause I got an add-on but that’s never been an issue before so. Who knows.
Anyways let’s jump into it.
This month’s theme is Force of Nature. It seems like it’s going in the direction of being more natural with your makeup looks and such.
We have the list of what’s included in this bag.
This bag is actually bigger than the usual ones you get in these. This one is a canvas bag with a little lip charm on the zipper. The pattern looks like a coral reef has been kissed, which I guess goes with the nature theme. Also the name of the theme is on the inside of the bag like it was last month.
Tatcha The Water Cream. This is the item I picked for this month’s bag. I really love this cream and there wasn’t anything else that I wanted to try in the selection. So I went with this one. I have actually gotten it in one of these bags before. This Moisturizer is a buttery cream that you don’t have to use a lot to get the full effect. I am able to get complete full moisturized coverage with a pea-sized amount. I like to keep this one around for when I have a lot of redness and I feel like my skin is going crazy. It always seems to get it back under control in a couple of uses. Like I said I love this one so of course, I would buy it again.
This one comes in 2 sizes: a 0.34 oz Travel Size for $20 and a 1.7 oz Full Size for $68.
First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads. I really like this brand and have tried several things from it with no issues. This one is a pack of 10 pads that you can use to tone and exfoliate your face. This one is simple you just swipe it around your face and neck. It doesn’t burn or anything crazy. I used this one after doing a face mask and I think it may have been too much cause I was super red after. It may have been it in combination with it or one of the other products I used after. I do think this one would be best to use alone or with calming products so that you don’t have any issues. I like the idea of these. However, I don’t know if I would buy this one again or not yet. It could change the move I use it and once my skin is less angry.
These come in 2 sizes. A 28 pad jar for $18 and a 60 pad jar for $36.
Milk Makeup Kush High Volume Mascara. I really love this brand. I’ve never tried anything that I absolutely hated. I really love this mascara and have tried it before. The spoolie on it is spread out enough to give you good coverage. Also, it goes on easy and you can add multiple coats without it clumping. It does give you some pretty good volume to your natural lashes. I like this one and would buy it again.
The full size of this is $25.
REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask. I have tried a tonic from this brand and didn’t have any issues. Also, I always love a good face mask. This is an orange-tinted gel that smells slightly fruity. I used a brush to paint it on my face and left it on for 10 mins. It didn’t tingle, burn, or anything like that so I counted that as a plus. I removed the bulk of it with an eco round then washed the remained off with warm water. I didn’t really have any issues with it but I don’t know if I would buy it again or not. Mainly cause I wasn’t really wowed with it, which could change when I use it again.
This one comes in a 50ml bottle for $58.
Oryza Nude Shimmer & Contour Eyeshadow Palette. I actually got another one of these little quad palettes in another bag a couple of months ago. I panicked when I opened this one thinking it was the same exact one but it’s not thankfully. This is a brown nude-themed mini palette that includes 1 matte and 3 shimmers. Let me break down these 4 shades.
Top Left- Chocolate Brown Matte which does have a slightly hidden shine to it when you blend it in. This one is light enough that it could be used as a contour.
Top Right- Golden Tan shimmer with gold glitter in it.
Bottom Left- Copper Bronze shimmer
Bottom Right- Super Pale Pink shimmer.
This palette is easy to blend and really buildable especially the matte. The shimmers are really creamy and can be applied with your fingers. There isn’t a whole lot of fall out and you can create a couple of simple looks with it. This is a good one that you can keep in your bag to do touch-ups or emergency fixes on the go. I like this one and would buy one again.
This palette is $19.95 on the brand website.
Buy the Nude Shimmer & Contour Eyeshadow Palette from Oryza.
Above is a look I created using the eyeshadow palette and the mascara.
I really liked this bag. I didn’t get anything I hated which is always a huge plus. The reviews you do on Ipsy’s site every move actually does help. I did get an add-on for this one which I will do a later review on. If you don’t get Ipsy and want to. It’s $12 and I will list my referral link below.
